Analyst: Apple is expanding its list of suppliers for the iPhone 14 launch

Apple’s iPhone strengthens its position in Indonesia’s mid-range smartphone market.

In a series of tweets, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo Kuo says Apple is expanding its list of suppliers ahead of the iPhone 14 launch. Among those added: SG Micro.

From Kuo’s tweets: SG Micro had passed the quality certification of the higher-end iPhone 14 and will likely ship the PMICs (battery and level shifter) for the iPhone 14 in 2H22.

It’s the first time for SG Micro to ship Apple’s high-end products, which means that Apple’s revenue contribution will increase significantly, and its technical capability can already compete with tier-1 worldwide companies in the consumer electronics field.

In addition to being one of the primary beneficiaries of the domestic replacement policy in China, Apple’s orders will also become another significant revenue and profit driver for SG Micro.

The iPhone 14 line-up is expected to be unveiled in September. Here are some of the rumors about the smartphone upgrade:

Some models may cost US$100 more than their iPhone 13 counterparts.

° Apple make its latest A16 processor exclusive to the Pro models in the iPhone 14 lineup.

° At least some of the models will be eSIM-only.

° The ‌iPhone 14 Pro‌ will contain 8GB of RAM.

° Some will sport 120GHz displays.

° The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models will have a hole + pill design.

° The top two models have also have OLED screens.

° They will support the Wi-Fi 6E standard.

° Black, white, blue, red and purple will be the color options for the iPhone 14, while graphite, gold, silver and purple will be available on the iPhone 14 Pro.

° There will be a new purple colorway for both iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro that shifts in tone depending on the lighting.
