Analyst: 2022 MacBook Air, 11-inch iPad to sport mini-LED displays

Upcoming iPad Pros and iPad Airs could be offered with matte screens for the first time.

In a note to investors — as noted by MacRumors — analyst Ming Chi Kuo says Apple plans a new MacBook Air and an 11-inch iPad Pro with mini-LED displays in 2022.

The Sellers Research Group (that’s me) thinks the report is right. However, I’m dubious that the 11-inch tablet will sport the “Pro” monitor. I think it will just be called “iPad.”)

Apple introduced mini-LED displays on the 2021 iPad Pro models. It only makes sense that the tech will “trickle down” to other versions of the tablet.

As for the MacBook Air, it’s rumored to come in a variety of colors, a la the 21-inch iMac, and have a new design. And it will certainly sport a successor to Apple’s M1 chip.
