Analyst: 2021 iPhone to sport an improved Ultra Wide camera with better low-light performance

In a note to clients — as noted by MacRumors — analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the “iPhone 13” (or will it be dubbed the “iPhone 12S”?) will likely sport an upgraded Ultra Wide camera with significantly improved low-light performance, thanks to lens verification improvements and intensified competition in Apple’s camera supply chain.

His prediction lines up with a forecast earlier this week by Barclays analysts Blayne Curtis and Thomas O’Malley. They said all four 2021 iPhones will feature an upgraded Ultra Wide camera lens with a wider ƒ/1.8 aperture, compared to ƒ/2.4 on iPhone 12 models.

They also think that the iPhone 12 Pro Max’s upgraded Telephoto lens will expand to the standard iPhone 13 Pro, with a 65mm focal length and ƒ/2.2 aperture.
