Alto’s Odyssey arrives on February 22nd for iOS, tvOS. Watch the trailer today!

One of the best games to come out over the past few years was Alto’s Adventure, a beautiful and ethereal side-scroller in which you guide Alto — a young snowboarder — through an increasingly difficult set of jumps over obstacles, catching llamas along the way… It sounds odd, but it is honestly one of the most playable games I’ve ever downloaded. Developer Ryan Cash let us know today that the long-awaited sequel to Alto’s Adventure — Alto’s Odyssey — will be available on Thursday, February 22nd, 2018.

According to the developers,

Alto’s Odyssey is an endless sandboarding journey set against a gorgeous and ever-changing desert landscape.

As a followup to the critically acclaimed endless snowboarder Alto’s Adventure (http://altosadventure.com), Alto’s Odyssey is designed to be enjoyed by returning players and newcomers alike as a standalone experience all its own.

The game features Alto series hallmarks like fluid physics-based movement, procedurally generated terrain, and dynamic lighting and weather effects. This time around, players will soar above windswept dunes, traverse thrilling canyons, and explore long-hidden temple cities in a fantastical place far from Alto’s home village. Along the way, you’ll grind across vines, bounce atop hot air balloons, ride towering rock walls, and escape mischievous lemurs – all while uncovering the desert’s many mysteries.

Considering the endless hours I’ve spent playing Alto’s Adventure over the years, this is a product announcement I’m absolutely thrilled about. I just put in my pre-order!
