A round-up of four Apple Watch stand/docks

If you own an Apple Watch, you might as well display its gorgeous looks at every opportunity. Thankfully, there are several products available that do this while allowing you to charge your smartwatch.

My favorite of the four I’ve tried is the Griffin WatchStand . It has an advantage in that it’s built to work with both the Apple smartwatch and an iPhone.

The ebony pedestal looks classy on a desk, nightstand, or tabletop and allows you to power up the Apple Watch in either horizontal or vertical orientation. Conveniently, it works with all types of Apple Watch bands — from the Sport model to semi-flexible ones.

The WatchStand houses the MagSafe charging cable that comes with the Apple Watch (there’s no cable included with the Griffin product — or any of the stands/docks mentioned here). To get started you simply feed the MagSafe cable through the center of the post, then place the Apple Watch against the cradle. The MagSafe connector’s magnet snaps itself onto the back of the watch and begins charging.

Malwarebytes, the anti-malware solution that’s been in business since 2004, has acquired AdwareMedic, and as such now offers a solution for Mac users everywhere.

In a blog post on Malwarebytes’ site, AdwareMedic’s creator Thomas Reed described his motivation to create security software for the Mac, as well has his decision to join Malwarebytes:

AdwareMedic quickly became a hit, even being recommended by countless Apple techs around the world.

Then, in March of this year, I was contacted by Marcin Kleczynski, CEO of Malwarebytes.

The timing could not have been better, and I’m pleased to say that The Safe Mac and AdwareMedic are now owned by Malwarebytes, and I’m now the Director of Mac Offerings at Malwarebytes.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac is the resulting new product, which you can download for free. This 1.0 version requires OS X 10.7 and is for home use only. Stay safe online, folks!
