How to transfer data from an Android phone to an iPhone 14

With the debut of the iPhone 14 line-up, many Android users have moved to an Apple smartphone. If you’re one of those folks, you’ll want to move your data from the Android device to your iPhone. We’ll show you show.

The process can be a little daunting as Androids and iPhones run two different operating systems. One utility that can help with this process is AnyTrans. More on this below.

Before you start

Before you start moving data, there are some things you should note:

  • Your Android phone should be running Android 4.0 or later.
  • Apple’s Move to iOS Android app supports transferring contacts, messages, camera photos and videos, mail accounts, calendars. However, there are some weaknesses, which we’ll look at in a moment.
  • The free apps used on Android will be suggested as downloads on the App Store; the paid apps will be added to the user’s iTunes wish list.
  • If you have already set up your iPhone, just go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings to restart.

How to use Move to iOS:

  1. Set up your iPhone until reaching the “Apps & Data” screen.
  2. Choose the “Move Data from Android” option.
  3. On your Android phone, go to “Google Play Store”.
  4. Download and install the Move to iOS app, then open it.
  5. Tap on “Continue” on both your Android and iPhone.
  6. Tap “Agree” and then “Next” on your Android phone.
  7. Enter the 10-digit or 12 code on your Android phone displayed on the iPhone.
  8. Then your Android phone will connect your iPhone via a private Wi-Fi network.
  9. Select the data you want to transfer on Android.
  10. Tap on the “Next” button to start moving data from Android to iPhone.
  11. Tap “Done” on your Android device.
  12. Then tap “Continue” on your iDevice.
  13. Follow the onscreen steps to set up and activate your iPhone or iPad.

The issues with Move to iOS

Apple’s utility is handy, but does have its weaknesses. For instance, you can’t transfer everything such as, songs saved in phone memory, ringtones, call logs, etc.

Move to iOS’s transfer speed is rather slow. Plus, the transfer process is likely to be interrupted for unknown reasons.

Move to iOS only works when setting up an iPhone for the first time; it’s not for transfers to an already operating iPhone.

Say hello to AnyTrans

For these reasons, you should consider using AnyTrans instead of Move to iOS. The utility covers nearly all types of iPhone data. That includes non-purchased music, which is really convenient. You can transfer selected content OR all content with a single click.

AnyTrans won’t erase existing data on a new iPhone and skip duplicated content automatically. Albums on Android will be retained after being transferred to the new iPhone.

There’s no need to reset the iPhone. And you can make the transition whenever you want.

AnyTrans supports all models of Android devices. And it works well with your iPhone 14 whether or not it’s been set up.

What’s more, with AnyTrans, you can make merge necessary content. For example, you can  merge WhatsApp chats from the same person to one thread. Or you can merge different contact info of the same person into one contact card.

Using AnyTrans to transfer data from an Android phone to an iPhone

Here are the steps to using AnyTrans to transfer data from an Android phone to an iPhone after downloading AnyTrans on your computer.

You should note that AnyTrans isn’t just a one-time tool for data migration. It’s also an iPhone manager that will help users save time and effort in many aspects including data backup, making custom ringtones, backup/upgrade/manage iPhone apps, mirroring an iPhone screen to a computer, and more.
