Apple posts new firmware for the HomePod mini, HomePod

A new study by Parks Associates shows that 71% of HomePod owners use their devices regularly.

Apple has released firmware update 15.6 for the HomePod mini and the discontinued HomePod.

According to Apple’s release notes, “Software version 15.6 adds Siri voice recognition support in Mandarin Chinese (China mainland, Taiwan), Cantonese (China mainland, Hong Kong), and Japanese (Japan). This update also includes performance and stability improvements.”

Your HomePod and HomePod mini should automatically update. If not:

  • Make sure that your iOS device is updated to the latest version of iOS.
  • On your iOS device, open the Home app and tap  the house icon in the upper-left corner.
  • Tap Software Update.
  • Tap Install. This will install the update on all of your HomePod speakers you have set up in your home.
