Apple TV+ earns seven Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Apple TV+ has announced that it’s been honored with seven Creative Arts Emmy Awards at the 73rd Annual Creative Arts Emmy Awards. The wins were announced today by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, ahead of the 73rd annual Primetime Emmy Awards which will take place on Sunday, September 19.

With its history-making win for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special for “Boys State,” Apple TV+ becomes the first streaming service to win an Emmy Award in the category in its first two years of eligibility. In addition, “Ted Lasso” landed three Emmys, and “Carpool Karaoke: The Series” took home the award for Outstanding Short Form Comedy, Drama or Variety Series for the fourth year straight. Apple Originals “For All Mankind” and “Calls” landed previously announced awards this year in juried categories, including Outstanding Innovation in Interactive Media for “For All Mankind: Time Capsule,” and Outstanding Motion Design for “Calls.”

In less than two years since its global launch on November 1, 2019, Apple has been honored with 143 award wins and 517 nominations.

Last month, Apple landed a total of 35 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including 20 nominations for “Ted Lasso,” which broke records by becoming the most nominated comedy series this year, and the most nominated freshman comedy series in history. The remainder of the nominations will be presented in the 73rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards next Sunday, September 19.

Apple’s critically-acclaimed hit series “Ted Lasso” received its first Emmy Award wins during last night’s presentation for Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For A Comedy Series. And tonight, the comedy series landed an additional Creative Arts Emmy Award for Theo Park for Outstanding Casting For A Comedy Series.

Recently renewed for a fifth season, which is set to make its global debut on Apple TV+, Apple’s “Carpool Karaoke: The Series” landed its fourth consecutive Emmy Award win for Outstanding Short Form Comedy, Drama Or Variety Series.
