A New Day for Apple World Today

That's All Folks!

It’s somehow fitting that I make this announcement on the day after Independence Day. Today I’m happy to say that my friend and business partner Dennis Sellers takes over Apple World Today as the publisher and editor-in-chief.

Let’s call this a “semi-retirement” from AWT. I’ll still be writing on occasion, I’ll help out Dennis with any issues that come up with the mechanics of running the site, and I’ll soon have an announcement about a new feature for Apple World Today. After six and a half years of running the site (primarily behind the scenes) after the closure of TUAW by AOL, I needed a break.

I’ll still be writing for OWC’s blog The Rocket Yard for the foreseeable future as well. I’m also considering starting up a non-profit charity, so life won’t all be laying on a beach somewhere sipping margaritas! I do plan on doing a lot more camping in places where I won’t have an internet connection, and I won’t have to worry about pre-writing posts before taking trips.

If you noticed some glitches in the site over the past few days, those were caused by migrating the website from one dedicated server hosted by DreamHost to another. Many thanks to the talented staff at DreamHost for making sure that our downtime was at a minimum during this difficult transition!

My greatest thanks have to go to Dennis himself. He’s truly the heart of Apple World Today, producing an endless flow of informative, fun and useful articles. More than that, he’s been — and continues to be — a good friend.

Apple World Today is in good hands with Dennis at the wheel. I wish him the best of success in the future and urge our readers to actively participate in the site as it moves forward.

  • Take care Steve and enjoy your semi-retirement. It’s hard to give up the helm of something you love dearly but I totally understand. Safe travels.
