Head of Apple Health Strategic Initiatives leaving to join Carbon Health

Myoung Cha, the head of Apple Health Strategic Initiatives, is leaving the tech giant this week to work at Carbon Health, according to Business Insider (a subscription is required to read the article).

At Apple he leads a product organization of engineers, designers, data scientists, and clinicians that incubates and builds technologies focused on improving health and wellbeing for consumers around the globe. 

Since joining Apple in 2015, Myoung has spearheaded the development and launch of several products and research initiatives with partners including Google (COVID-19 exposure notifications), the government of Singapore (LumiHealth), CVS/Aetna (Attain), and J&J (Heartline). These technologies set the stage for Apple’s growth and innovation in digital health with the Apple Watch. 

Prior to joining Apple, Myoung was a Partner at McKinsey & Co, leading McKinsey’s Global Healthcare Strategy & Private Equity practices. 

Carbon Health describes itself as a “modern, tech-enabled healthcare company transforming the primary care, urgent care, and virtual care experience.” It’s based in San Francisco.
