Apple leaker LeaksApplePro has tweeted that the next generation iPad Pro will debut next Tuesday, April 13. He adds that the announcement will be via press release only and not a big event. LeaksApplePro also says that the AirTags WON’T be announced next week, as they’ve been delayed.
The Sellers Research Group (that’s me) is a little skeptical that there’ll be no online event to announce the long-anticipated tablet. However, LeaksApplePro has a pretty good track record, and it’s possible that Apple is putting all its virtual event marbles into June’s Worldwide Developer Conference plans.
The next gen iPad Pro is likely to sport a mini-LED display (at least on the 12.9-inch model). Other rumors have both sizes (12.9-inch and 11-inch) adding a faster A14X chip and support for 5G.
AirTags, which were expected last year, are a (rumored) Tile competitor that you could attach to an item (iPhone, iPad, Apple TV remote, car keys, etc.) and track it if it’s misplaced or lost. There are several similar products on the market, such as Tile and Adero, but Apple’s version will purportedly be more deeply integrated with its own devices.
LeaksApplePro offers no hint at to when AirTags will be released. Nor does he offer any possibilities on why they’ve been delayed.
