Gugu Mbatha-Raw to star in ‘Surface’ thriller series for Apple TV+

The Morning Show star Gugu Mbatha-Raw is sticking with Apple TV+ after landing the lead role in a new psychological thriller series, Surface, for Apple’s streaming services reports Deadline.

Surface is a straight-to-order, eight-part series from Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and Apple Studios. No description of the thriller has been released.

Surface will be created and written by Veronica West, who has also written on shows including Brothers & Sisters, GCB and State of Affairs. She will exec produce alongside Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter of Hello Sunshine. Production is slated to begin next year, according to Deadline.
