Plugable’s USB-C-MD103 adapter equals Apple’s alternative at half the price

Apple’s The USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter lets you connect your USB-C-enabled Mac or iPad Pro to an HDMI display, while also connecting a standard USB device and a USB-C charging cable. The adapter allows you to mirror your Mac display to your HDMI-enabled TV or display.

Pretty cool. However, Apple’s device costs US$69. You can get the same functionality with Plugable’s latest adapter – the USBC-MD103, which is only $25. The adapter is barely the size of the palm of your hand, and can be used at your desk or while you’re on-the-go.

It provides a solution for missing ports for laptops and tablets, such as USB-C, HDMI, and USB 3.0 with pass-through charging available. Pass-through charging port supports USB-C power adapters and can charge your laptop with up to 60W of power. Not all laptops support this, so make sure your Mac is compatible if this is a must-have feature for you.
