News round-up: new ‘For All Mankind’ trailer, CASETiFY/Pokemon cases, more

Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, we’ll frequently offer a wrap-up of news items you should check out. First up: Apple has released a trailer for the second season of the Apple TV + series, For All Mankind.

 ° Meliza Haradinaj, minister of Foreign Affairs and diaspora of the Public of Kosovo, has asked Apple to correct how its borders appear on Apple Maps, renewing debate over the politics of cartography.

° CASETiFY and The Pokémon Company have teamed up again to deliver another original collection of cases that channel a nostalgic ’90s theme which pays homage to when the first Pokémon video games were released. The first drop of the three-part series will debut on August 12, 2020, shipping worldwide from www.casetify.com/pokemon.

° 9to5Mac notes that the antitrust hearing with testimony from Apple CEO Tim Cook is now scheduled for July 29.

° MacRumors reports that macOS Catalina 10.15.6 seems to have introduced a bug that causes system crashes, especially when using virtualization software such as VirtualBox or VMware.

° The MacVoices live virtual discussion with the Silicon Valley Mac User Group, Adam Engst, and host Chuck Joiner wraps up with Adam’s comments on App Clips and iOS 14, and questions from the audience on touch screen Macs, virtualization on Apple Silicon, and the success of virtual WWDC.

° Intel CEO Bob Swan has announced changes to the company’s technology organization and executive team to accelerate product leadership and improve focus and accountability in process technology execution.
