The Wall Street Journal says U.S. House lawmakers are demanding emails and executive communications from four technology giants (Apple, Facebook, Amazon, and Alphabet/Google) as they look for evidence of anticompetitive behavior.
House Judiciary Committee leaders from both parties want the companies to fork offer reams of documents including executive communications and financial statements as well as information about competitors, market share, mergers and key business decisions by Oct. 14. The dozens of executives named in the requests include Apple CEO Tim Cook, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Google’s early leaders Larry Page, Sergey Brin, and Eric Schmidt.
