Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu says he will Apple execs in Davos next month to discuss their plan about setting up manufacturing facilities in India. He added that talks are already on with the company, and the government can look at the demands of Apple Inc for setting up its manufacturing facility in the country.
Apple leased its latest transparency report yesterday, outlining government data requests that it received from January to June 2018. The report shows that Apple received between 0 and 499 National Security Letters between January and June, connected to somewhere between 1,000 and 1,499 of its customers.
Some iPad customers have been understandably upset at a statement Apple made that 2018 iPad Pros that come slightly bent are normal and that Apple will not be replacing bent iPad Pros under warranty. However, according to an email obtained by a 9to5Mac reader, Dan Riccio, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, says that the new iPad Pro “meets or exceeds all of Apple’s high quality standards of design and precision manufacturing” and that it “carefully engineered it.”
The ReportLinker research group predicts the global smart wearable market to grow at a “healthy” compound annual growth rate over the forecast period of 2018-2024. The study on smart wearable market covers the analysis of the leading geographies such as North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and RoW for the period of 2016 to 2024.
A pilot study will test a new iOS app called NorthTrac, developed by The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research to help head and neck cancer patients manage their post-treatment symptoms. Patients answer a series of symptom-based questions – twice a week – rating the severity of these symptoms. If a patient tracks that they’re having an issue with a particular symptom, a window pops up with a list of different self-care tips that can be done at home to help reduce or manage those symptoms.
