Apple’s ‘Welcome Home’ ad wins two gold awards at the shots Awards

shots, the “international source of news, trends and inspiration for advertising creative,” has announced the winners of its annual shots Awards for exceptional creative work. Apple won two awards for its “Welcome Home” ad. You can view it here.

The four-minute short film featuring musical artist FKA Twigs, created by TBWAMedia Arts Lab for Apple’s HomePod speaker, has also won Association of Independent Commercial Producers and Cannes Lions Grand Prix awards. It was directed by Oscar-winning director Spike Jonze.

“The 2018 shots Awards once again showcased the best, most creative work, people and companies from across the global advertising industry,” says Danny Edwards, editor of shots. “Our international array of judges did a fantastic job of choosing the best from an already brilliant shortlisted bunch and the Awards night was a great celebration of those choices.”



He adds that the winners, selected by a jury comprised of creatives, agency executives, directors and other international industry luminaries, represent “the best, most creative and innovative work in 21 categories across digital advertising, TV commercials, music videos, branded content and more.”

Apple’s “Welcome Home” ad won “Best Use of Music in a Commercial” and “Online Commercial of the Year — Over Two Minutes.” The full list of winners and their submissions can be found at https://shotsawards.slateapp.com/.
