Apple Daily Report: Apple looking into LTE issues on new iPhones (and more news)

Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, at the end of each week day, we’ll offer this wrap-up of news items you should check out.

Apple is contacting some iPhone XS and XS Max owners suffering from LTE connection problems that have been ongoing since the devices shipped last month. (I’ve not been contacted. Have you?)

Apple has contracted with several local police departments to bring police officers in as extra security at a Sacramento, California, retail store. This follows a months-long rash of store thefts by a criminal ring. So far, that ring is suspected of stealing a million dollars worth of Apple products. Sacramento police say the Apple store at Arden Fair Mall was targeted in the last month.

Some Mac owners trying to upgrade to macOS Mojave are encountering errors preventing them from completing the process, according to complaints on Apple’s support forums. However, I had no problem with the upgrade on my new MacBook Pro. Have you?

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is moving ahead with plans to revise safety rules that bar fully self-driving cars from the roads without equipment like steering wheels, pedals and mirrors, according to Reuters.
