Otterbox Pursuit is thin, protective, and a bit stiff under it’s broken in

The $79.95 Otterbox Pursuit is the company’s thinnest, toughest, most protective iPhone Xs Max case. It’s available in black, merlin, autumn lake, and black/clear.

Though it adds some bulk to the smartphone, the Pursuit will protect an iPhone Xs Max from the elements, dust, and scratches thanks to its seals (including a sealed camera opening), port covers, and audio-transparent mesh. You should note that the button covers are a bit stiff at first, but soften/loosen up with frequent use.

Though it’s tough, the Pursuit won’t prevent damage to the smartphone from hard drops. It doesn’t include a screen protector and it’s water resistant, but not waterproof. Also, the mute switch toggle won’t work unless your phone has been inserted into the case correctly.

I don’t find it useful, but Otterbox includes a lanyard in the package, so you can wear the iPhone Xs Max around your neck, shoulder, or wrist, if you wish. However, I don’t advise having the super-sized iPhone swinging around on your wrist).

It’s not hard to install the iPhone Xs Max into the Pursuit, but it’s not a three-second job. Which means this isn’t the case for those who like to jump back and forth between cases.
