Jamf, which specializes in Apple management solutions, is partnering with MATTER, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to health around the world, to develop an Innovation Pod that will provide access to a variety of technologies, including iPads and digital curriculum – all within a completely customized shipping container.
The pod will be unveiled at the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series in Phoenix Park in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, today at 3 p.m. (Central). The companies say that, this summer, more than 150 children living in poverty will soon have the opportunity to learn about and engage with technology – many for the first time in their lives. Students attending Hope School in Cite Soleil, Haiti will receive a completely customized shipping container designed as a 21st century classroom.
The Innovation Pod, outfitted with solar power, is a hub for learning and using technology. Each of the pod’s five collaborative workspaces include an interactive display powered by Apple TV.
While in the unit, every student and teacher can access an iPad. Students at Hope School will use a variety of apps, such as Swift Playground, Duolingo and Khan Academy.
