Apple is developing a drama series dubbed Swagger that’s based on the early life and career of NBA superstar Kevin Durant, reports Variety.
The article says the series is inspired by Durant’s youth basketball experiences. It will explore the world of Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball and the lives of the players, their families, and coaches. The series will be produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Television along with Durant’s Thirty Five Media.
This will be Apple’s ninth scripted pickup. Click here for more info on the company’s TV plans.
Durant plays for the Golden State Warriors. He’s won an NBA championship, an NBA Most Valuable Player Award, the Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award, the NBA All-Star Game Most Valuable Player Award, four NBA scoring titles, the NBA Rookie of the Year Award, and two Olympic gold medals. Durant has also been selected to seven All-NBA teams and eight NBA All-Star teams.
