Sometimes you need transfer music and other files from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. That’s when TouchCopy comes in handy. And the latest version (16) adds support for the iPhone 8 and iPhone X.
Let’s say you need to move an iTunes library from an old Mac to a new one. Or transfer music, photos, SMS, voice mails, contacts, etc. from your iDevice to iTunes. Or recover your iTunes content from your iOS device when you get a new Mac or are recovering after a hard drive failure.
If the music, playlists, song data, album art, ratings, play counts, ebooks, games, videos and Messages are still available on your iDevice, TouchCopy can retrieve all of these and more and safely restore your iTunes library. Conveniently, TouchCopy will prevent iTunes from attempting to re-sync your device while it’s running.
What’s more, the software lets you view and copy your iDevice photos to your computer, including photos and videos taken on your device’s camera. TouchCopy includes a link to a web page for help, but I didn’t find it necessary to use it. The app is that intuitive.
However, I did experience a couple of crashes when I was transferring Calendar data. Overall, though, TouchCopy worked as promised.
TouchCopy costs $39.95, though you can “rent” it for a year for $29.95. But why would you do that?
