In a note to clients — as noted by AppleInsider — KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the TrueDepth camera system (required for Face ID on the iPhone X) won’t make to Apple’s 2018 iPhones with rear-facing cameras.
He had previously predicted that Apple would introduce TrueDepth on the rear camera starting in 2018. However, now the analyst thinks that Apple will instead focus on launching new models on time with stable shipments.
Kuo feels that Apple will concentrate on “reducing costs and selling prices.” He also expects that the tech giant will expand the iPhone X lineup to provide “more product lines to attract more customers.”
