Strava is a social network for athletes with an amazing iPhone (and Apple Watch) app to match. Yesterday Strava announced a new feature — Athlete Posts — that lets 36 top athletes post their stories, photos, questions, gear tips, race reports, recommendations and workouts as well as their shared activities.
By adding athletic storytelling to the social network, Strava hopes to let people share more about their active lives. Later this summer, Athlete Posts will be available to all Strava users, allowing them to inspire each other to new levels of fitness and share useful tips and content with a world of athletes.
In addition to Athlete Posts, Strava announced the second annual Global Bike To Work Day Challenge on Thursday, May 11, 2017. To participate in the Challenge, cyclists simply need to upload and tag their commutes on Strava to show just how many people commute to work and exercise at the same time. Strava found that last year 79,879 cyclists logged a commute on the first ever Bike to Work Day, offsetting 514.51 tons of carbon emissions.
