The GoPower Watch should go with you if you’re traveling with an Apple Watch and an iPhone

Kanex’s $99.95 GoPower Watch is a portable, cordless charging solution for the Apple Watch. The key words are “portable” and “cordless.”

It’s small (about 3 inches square and one inch tall) and only weighs 4.9 ounces, so it’s easy to toss it into a purse or travel bag. It’s an Apple Certified magnetic charging dock that uses the same inductive charging connector that comes with the Apple Watch.

With a 4,000 mAh battery capacity, the GoPower Watch can charge you Apple Watch up to six times before it needs to be recharged. That makes it very handy when you’re on multi-day trips.

You can even charge your smartwatch and an iPhone simultaneously. Just plug in your Lightning cable into the USB port of the GoPower Watch. You have to press the button on the side of the charger to start power flowing to your devices. An LED indicator displays battery levels and charge status. Since the Apple Watch lays flat on the charger, you can use its touchscreen while it’s juicing up.

The Kanex device enables pass-through charging while connected to a power source. Your Apple device charges first, then the GoPower Watch recharges itself. It also has built-in surge protection, which is a nice safety feature.

As with the Kanex GoPower Plus, most of the time I don’t need the gadget. However, when I’m on the go, it’s extremely practical (more so, than the GoPower Plus). Since I’m actually hoping to take a vacation this October (the first one in years), the GoPower Watch will certainly be traveling with me).
