Simply Mac closing some retail stores across the U.S.

Simply Mac, an Apple Authorized Reseller and Service Provider owned by GameStop, is shutting down some of its retail stores in the U.S. Locations in North Carolina, North Dakota, Montana, Texas, Illinois, Indiana, Utah, Idaho, Maryland, South Dakota, and more are closing this week, reports MacRumors.

Notices at some of the locations say Simply Mac is being shut down because Apple is ending its agreement with the retail chain. However, a GameStop spokesperson who spoke to the Midland-Reporter Telegram said that the moves are part of a business transformation plan that involves closing non-productive store locations.

Simply Mac has (had?) over 76 brick-and-mortar store nationwide. I haven’t been able to find details on exactly how many stores will be closing.
