Apple is working on three new iPhone 8 models (shown in fanciful mock-ups) that will launch next year, and all will sport glass-backed bodies, reports Japanese news site Nikkei.
“Apple has tentatively decided that all the 5.5-inch, 5-inch and 4.7-inch models will have glass backs, departing from metal casings adopted by current iPhones, and Biel and Lens are likely to be providing all the glass backs for the new iPhones next year,” the article adds, quoting unnamed sources. The glass front and back will reportedly be held together by a metal frame.
Other rumors about the “iPhone 8” — which may be dubbed the “iPhone 10” since 2017 is the Apple smartphone’s 10th anniversary— say it will come with a curved OLED screen, wireless charging, a faster A11 processor, and no Home button. The Home button function, as well as Camera and Touch ID, will, per the rumor mill, be integrated into the display.
Changes of this happening (IMHO): 90%. I think that, for once, all the rumors will prove true.
