With 4K video catching on — and prices for 4K TVs dropping — most folks will simply view such content online. So when will Apple offer 4K content on the iTunes Store?
It seems like a natural move. After all, the iMac with 5K Retina practically screams for such content. The MacBook Pro line comes, with one exception, with Retina displays.
Sony’s 4K video store has over 100 titles. TV episodes cost$3.99. Film rentals are $7.99 for a 24-hour viewing window. Buying 4K movies costs $29.99 per title.
We need Apple to step up to the plate and match Sony’s offerings.
