The New York Times reports that Twitter is in discussions with Apple to launch a Twitter app for the Apple TV that would let Twitter’s users watch the NFL games on Apple’s set-top box.
Last March, Twitter and Facebook, along with other tech companies, faced off over which of them would get the rights to live-stream National Football League games on Thursday nights. Twitter won by agreeing to pay the N.F.L. around $10 million to stream 10 games and to sell only a portion of the ad inventory exclusively. It will stream its first games on Sept. 15.
