Tim and Steve chat about the Apple event on OWC Radio #33

For your listening pleasure, OWC Radio host Tim Robertson (@mymac) and chatted yesterday for a good long while about what transpired during Monday’s Spring Forward event. That podcast is now available, and you can hear Tim and I expound on any number of things — like the MacBook, Apple’s ResearchKit, and even the opening video showing the launch of a new Apple Store in China.

One other fun bit was talking about the wonderful Apple community, how much we miss Macworld/iWorld, and the need for live events in order to meet with old friends and make new ones. Sigh…

Click the button below to hear the show, or look for OWC Radio in the iTunes Store if the store ever comes back online…

Trying to figure out just how much the various combinations of Apple Watch case, band, and colors cost or weigh can drive you to drink. Rather than do that, Rob Griffiths visited all of the various sources of information about the Watch and put together the definitive spreadsheet. You can download it here

Among his findings:

  • The lightest watch is the Classic Buckle Apple Watch at 56 grams, while the heaviest is the Apple Watch Stainless Steel Link at 125 grams.
  • Oddly enough, the Watch Sport bands vary by color. The black band is the lightest at 37 grams, while the heaviest is the white band at 47 grams.
  • You can’t get a 38mm leather loop or a 42mm modern buckle band in the Apple Watch family, and there’s no 38mm classic buckle or 42mm modern buckle in the Apple Watch edition family.

Many thanks to Rob, who has been a longtime contributor at Macworld and now co-hosts The Committed podcast
