Apple has announced a new iMac featuring a M6 process featuring a faster CPU and GPU with Neural Accelerators in each core.
Shelly Goldberg, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering, says “it blazes through everyday apps and multitasking while delivering powerful performance for creative workflows like photo and video editing.” For Intel-based upgraders, the leap is even greater, with up to 18x faster performance than the most popular Intel-based iMac
Together with the Dual 16-core Neural Engine, the new iMac delivers up to 5x faster on-device AI performance than M4, according to Apple.
Connectivity is improved with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, along with available 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet and storage that’s up to 2x faster. As with the previous model, the iMac boasts a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display; camera, speakers, and mics; up to four Thunderbolt 4 ports; and color-matched accessories.
It’s available in seven colors: blue, green, pink, yellow, purple, orange, and silver. You can find more details here.
