Apple sold 314,000 iPads in India in the second quarter of 2026, according to new data from Omdia.
That compares to sales of 233,000 in the second quarter of 2025 for 34.5% annual growth. Apple now has 23.% of India’s tablet market, compared to 19.6% in the second quarter of 2025. Ahead of Apple is Samsung with 26.%.
India’s tablet market is undergoing a shift toward higher-value devices, according to Omdia. In the second quarter of 2026, consumer shipments grew 12%, supported by demand for premium and newer devices, while commercial shipments grew 11%, led by strong business purchases. Education shipments fell 12% as government tenders remained on hold and higher component costs continued to put pressure on entry-level tablets.
Omdia expects India’s tablet market to reach 5.1 million units in 2026, up 4.2% year-over-year. This is a slower pace than the 11% growth recorded in quarter two of 2026, with growth expected to moderate over the rest of the year.
