Apple has announced that Tap to Pay on iPhone is now available in Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama and Peru.
Tap to Pay on iPhone works in collaboration with collection platforms, app developers and payment networks so that businesses of all sizes have a contactless collection system with debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, and other digital wallets. All with only one iPhone and one iOS app enabled, without the need for hardware or additional payment terminals.
With Tap to Pay on iPhone, merchants can accept contactless payments through iOS apps that are compatible with iPhone Xs or later models with the latest version of iOS installed. To finalize the purchase, the merchant only has to ask the customer to bring his debit or credit card, iPhone, Apple Watch or digital wallet to the business iPhone, and payment is made securely using NFC technology.
Starting today, the following countries and payment platforms in Latin America will offer Tap to Pay on iPhone, so that businesses of all sizes and categories, from transport and retail to food, drink, beauty and professional services, can provide the Tap to Pay option on iPhone as a method to finalize a purchase:

Tap to Pay on iPhone is compatible with contactless debit and credit cards from major payment networks, such as American Express, Mastercard and Visa.
