Mainland China’s PC shipments grew 11% year-over-year (YoY) in the second quarter of 26 to 11.4 million units, according to the latest Omdia data. There’s good news for the Mac, not-so-good news for the iPad.
Desktop shipments surged 42%, offsetting a 2% decline in notebook shipments, with the two categories accounting for 4.3 million and 7.1 million units, respectively. Meanwhile, tablet shipments in mainland China declined 13% to 8.0 million units, amid weaker demand and ongoing supply challenges.
Apple sold 1.2 million Macs in China for 10% market share in the second quarter of 2026. That compares to sales of 700,000 Macs and 7% market share in the second quarter of 2025. That’s annual growth of 63%.
Apple sold two million iPads in the second quarter of 2026 for 25% market share. That compares to sales of 2.2 million iPads and 24% market share in the second quarter of 2025.
For full-year 2026, Omdia expects mainland China’s PC market to decline 6% YoY, with consumer shipments falling 10%. Meanwhile, the tablet market is forecast to contract 10% in 2026, reflecting weak demand and continued supply constraints.
