Memojis allows you to customize an avatar for yourself. With iOS 12 and later, and iPadOS 12 and later, you can create an animated Memoji that matches your personality. Here’s what do you in iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 after you’ve designed your Animoji:
Open the Messages app and open a conversation or start a new message.
Tap the Plus (+) button next to the text entry field.
Swipe up and tap Memoji.
Swipe left or right to pick the Memoji character you want to use.
Tap the Record button to capture your facial movements and voice.
Tap the Stop button when you finish (recordings can last up to 30 seconds).
Tap Replay to check your recording, or tap the Send button (the upward arrow) to share it.
