In iOS 26, you can use your AirPods as a remote shutter to take photos or start and stop video recordings on your iPhone. Let’s look at how to do this.
How to use the Camera Remote:
- For Photos: Open the native Camera app, frame your shot (a 3-second countdown flash will display on screen), and press your AirPod stem.
- For Video: Swipe to Video mode and press the stem to start or stop recording.
(Note: If you select “Press Once,” standard media control gestures are temporarily disabled while using the Camera app. If you select “Press and Hold,” Siri and listening mode gestures are temporarily disabled).
