Yet another report says we won’t see a ‘standard’ iPhone 18 this year

Reiterating about a zillion other reports, a new report says the “standard” iPhone 18 won’t arrive this year.

Largan Precision Chairman Lin En-ping said a “major U.S. customer” had postponed the launch of a new model to the first quarter of 2027. That “major” customer is almost certainly Apple.

Largan Precision is a Taiwanese multinational company headquartered in Taichung, Taiwan. The company is a critical primary supplier for major electronics brands, most notably providing optical components for Apple’s iPhones

Apple is expected to debut the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max in September or October, and the “standard” iPhone 18 and an iPhone 18e in early 2027. As for the foldable iPhone, it’s expected late this year — unless design issues push it to 2027. You can find a roundup of iPhone 18 rumors here
