The Walkie-Talkie feature may disappear from the Apple Watch as of watchOS 27.

Apple has quietly removed the Walkie-Talkie app from Apple Watch in the first developer beta of watchOS 27, with the app vanishing from both the app list and Control Center, notes MacRumors.

Walkie-Talkie lets you have a one-on-one conversation with anyone who has a compatible Apple Watch. If you want to use it while you can, here’s how to use it in watchOS 26:

SETTING UP AND USING WALKIE-TALKIE

  1. Open Walkie-Talkie: Locate the app in your app list (yellow icon).
  2. Add a Friend: Tap “+ Add Friends” and select a contact. The name remains grey until they accept the invitation.
  3. Start a Conversation: Tap the friend’s name.
  4. Talk: Touch and hold the button, say your message, and release the button to let the friend hear it.
  5. Adjust Volume: Turn the Digital Crown while speaking.

MANAGING AVAILABILITY

  • Turn On/Off: Open the Walkie-Talkie app and toggle the button at the top of the screen.
  • Control Center: Tap the Walkie-Talkie icon in the Control Center to quickly toggle it on or off.
  • Theater Mode/Do Not Disturb: If Theater Mode is active, you are automatically unavailable.
