Future Macs, iPhones iPads, Apple Watches, and Vision Pross content may change based on which accessories are attached as evidence by a new patent filing by Apple for “Intent-Based Content.”
The tech giant says that current techniques for displaying different content based on user intent are “generally ineffective and/or inefficient.” For example, some techniques require users to navigate through different user interfaces, menus and/or applications on their device to access controls and statuses of accessory devices in their homes.
Apple’s patent filing involves provides more effective and/or efficient techniques for intent-aware content for electronic device interactions with accessory devices. For example, a smartwatch can connect with a speaker using techniques described in the patent. In addition, techniques optionally complement or replace other techniques for displaying different content based on user intent.
Some techniques described in the patent are for providing different content corresponding to an accessory device depending on different sets of one or more criteria being satisfied. For example, certain content can be provided when an accessory device is within a first distance while other content can be provided when the accessory device is within a second distance different from the first distance.
