Jay Blahnik, Apple’s vice president of Fitness Technologies, is retiring in July, according to The New York Times (a subscription is required to read the article).
Apple told employees that he’s leaving “to spend more time with his family and make an exciting move to New York City.” That may be the truth or it may have to do with accusations that he created a “toxic work environment.”
In an August 2025, affected employees said Blahnik “could be verbally abusive, manipulative and inappropriate,” according to the report. Apple spokesperson Lance Lin told The New York Times that the report contains “many inaccurate claims and mischaracterizations.”
Apple said it had investigated the claims and found no wrongdoing. The tech giant settled a complaint alleging sexual harassment by Blahnik.
Blaylock is, in addition to his work at Apple, an American fitness instructor, trainer, consultant, author, and program developer. He’s been a fitness expert for MSNBC.com and the Los Angeles Times and authored the book Full-Body Flexibility in 2004.
