Apple purportedly plans to release an iMac with an OLED display in 2029 or 2030.

Apple plans to release an iMac with an OLED display in 2029 or 2030, according to ZDNet Korea.

The article says the tech giant has requested Samsung Display and LG Display to produce OLED samples using their mass production facilities. Specifically, Apple asked suppliers for 24-inch OLED panels with 600 nits of brightness and around 218 pixels-per-inch (PPI).By comparison, the current ‌iMac‌ features a 24-inch LCD display with 500 nits of brightness and 218 PPI.

Apple is expected to debut a new 24-inch iMac with an M5 chips this year. The last refresh of the all-in-one desktop was in October 2024.

And rumors continue to pop up occasionally that Apple may release another 27-inch iMac. The last 27-incher was discontinued in March 2022.
