Darn! I wish Apple Arcade’s Retrocade ran (natively) on the Mac

And I’m hoping for Retrocade 2 with more classic arcade games

I’m excited that Retrocade is now available on Apple Arcade. I’m disappointed that it’s not available for the Mac, though it is for the iPad, iPhone, and Vision Pro.

The game actually includes several classic arcade games: Asteroids, Bubble Bobble, Breakout, Centipede, Galaga, Pac-Man, and Space Invaders

The games are presented in a similar way to how they were originally released, but with modern features. That includes unlockable achievements, global leaderboards, and Bluetooth controller support. Playing Retrocade on a Vision Pro is even cooler. You can “see” arcade machines in physical space, check out the artwork from the cabinets, and play the games from the arcade machine’s display.

I’m not sure why it’s not available for the Mac. Playing the retro games on a bigger display would be fun.

I’m also disappointed that you have to win a certain number of points in some games (such as Pac-Man) to “unlock” certain games (such as Frogger).

Perhaps we’ll get a Retrocade 2 that’s Mac compatible and offers more classic games. I’d love to see Ms. Pac-Man, Joust, Millipede, Arkanoid, and more.
