We may see the much-anticipated OLED MacBook Pro in the fourth quarter.

I certainly hope this rumor is correct: Apple’s first MacBook Pro models with OLED displays will launch in the fourth quarter of 2026, according to Korea’s The Elec.

Previous rumors have said it could be early 2027 rather than late 2026. However, The Elec says Samsung Display will reportedly begin mass production of eighth-generation OLED displays for the device in May.

“Samsung is planing to ship two million of these displays to Apple by the end of the year,” per the article. “The panel will be sent to Foxconn from the third quarter of 2026 for assembly into the final machines.”

The OLED MacBook Pro is expected to have a thinner design than current models. It’s also rumored to be the first Mac with a touchscreen and cellular connectivity.

Before that update arrives, 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with M5 Pro and M5 Max processors are due. They’re expected to debut any day now.
