If Apple doesn’t fix this macOS Tahoe bug ASAP my iPad Pro will become my main computer.

I’ve pondered making my M5 iPad Pro my main work computer, but haven’t yet taken the plunge. However, if Apple doesn’t fix an annoying macOS Tahoe bug immediately, I’ll be making the move.

I’m running macOS Tahoe 26.1 on a 16-inch MacBook Pro with 48 GB of RAM and a 2TB hard drive. On my iCloud Storage, 3.1TB of 4TB is available.

I run few third-party apps, but use CleanMyMac daily to make sure my Mac is healthy.

However, my Mac frequently freezes for a few seconds while Im working. And any music playing on Apple Music “stutters” when this happens.

This happened weeks ago, so I did a clean reinstall of macOS Tahoe and all my apps. That fixed the problem, or so I thought. But now it’s started again — and getting worse every day.

When I perform the operations on CleanMyMac, it tells me my Mac is in good health. I ran a recommended app called EtreCheckPro and the report says that one major issue was that “some processes are using an unusually high amount of CPU.”

The app listed the following as “minor” issues:

Heavy RAM usage – Apps are using a large amount of RAM.

Apps with heavy CPU usage – There have been numerous cases of apps with heavy CPU usage.

Runaway user process – A user process is using a large percentage of your CPU.

Heavy I/O usage – Your system is under heavy I/O use.

Nothing I do resolves the issues. I’ve never had this problem with any other version of macOS, but if this is how the future of the Mac operating system progresses, I’ll be using my MacBook Pro for testing purposes only and will be running Apple World Today on my iPad Pro.

I hope you’ll help support Apple World Today by becoming a patron. Almost all our income is from Patreon support and sponsored posts. Patreon pricing ranges from $2 to $10 a month. Thanks in advance for your support.
