How to change the wallpaper in macOS Tahoe

Starting with macOS Sierra, Apple provided a convenient Picture in Picture (PiP) feature that allows you to “float” a video window from Safari, YouTube, Apple TV+, and other apps.

macOS Tahoe makes it easy to change the wallpaper on your Mac’s screen. Here’s how:

  1. Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen.
  2. Select System Settings from the dropdown menu.
  3. In the System Settings sidebar, scroll down and click on Wallpaper.
  4. Choose a wallpaper from the provided categories, such as Dynamic Wallpapers, Landscapes, Pictures, or Colors.
  5. If you want to use a custom image, click the Add Photo button to select a photo from your device.

These are the available Wallpaper Options in macOS Tahoe:

  • Dynamic Wallpapers: These wallpapers change their appearance to reflect the time of day.
  • Aerials: Enjoy breathtaking aerial views that can also serve as a screen saver and animate when your Mac locks or unlocks.
  • Shuffle Aerials: A selection of still aerial images that change at a set interval.
  • Pictures: A gallery of creative still images to choose from.
  • Colors: Apply a solid-color background to your desktop.
