How to use the clipboard history feature in macOS Tahoe

Screenshot

macOS Tahoe adds a built-in clipboard history feature that provides a convenient way to manage and access your recent clippings without needing to install a third-party clipboard manager. Here’s how to use it:

To use the multiple clipboard feature in macOS Tahoe, open Spotlight (Command + Space), press the right arrow key or Command + 4, and then select the “Clipboard” icon at the end of the row to reveal and enable the history feature.

A list of recently copied items, including text and images, will appear. Click any item in the list to copy it back to your clipboard for pasting. By the way, the first time you use this feature, you will see a prompt warning about sensitive information. Click Enable to turn on the clipboard history.

The clipboard history saves both text snippets and images you copy. However,  you should note that built-in clipboard history only saves clippings for 8 hours.

The new Spotlight clipboard history also works with Universal Clipboard, allowing you to copy content from your iPhone and paste it on your Mac, and vice-versa.
