Updated Magic Keyboards for new 11-inch iPad Air, 13-inch iPad Air, and entry-level iPad 11 models are coming in the “not-too-distant” future, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says in his latest “Power On” newsletter.
In May 2024, Apple rolled out a revamped Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro adding a metal palm rest, more durable design, larger trackpad and function keys. Gurman thinks updated keyboards for the non-Pro tablets will get some, but not all, of its features.
Gurman says it told it will lack pricier components like the metal palm rest, but will have some new features — perhaps including a function row. He says that the product should be released by the middle of next year if all goes as planned.
Gurman says the new iPad Air, iPad 11, and Magic Keyboard models will likely be released in March or April. He expects the iPad 11 to sport an A17 Pro chip and 8GB of Ram for Apple Intelligence features.
