If you couldn’t jump on the iPhone 16 bandwagon in September, you are not solo (alone).
But that doesn’t mean that it’s too late to get the latest Apple thingamajig.
Getting the (relatively) new iPhone 16 Pro Max was a part of my 2025 New Year’s resolution and I got it as soon as the new year started. Safe to say, the slightly more than three-month wait was worth it because the 6.9” aparato (device) is exactly what was promised by Apple at the iPhone 16 showcase.
Let’s get to what I think of the iPhone 16 Pro Max, now that I have been using the Desert Titanium-colored gadget for a short period of time.
iPhone 16 Pro Max Specs: A Run-Down
This part is something you will find everywhere on the Internet. But since it was released a few months ago, let us review the specs that set the iPhone 16 Pro Max apart:
- It has three different storage capacities: 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB.
- The phone has a super huge retina XDR and OLED display of 6.9”.
- The fingerprint-resistant revestimiento (coating) is oleophobic.
- It has built-in Apple Intelligence which is like having a personal AI-Assistant.
- iPhone 16’s ultra-wide camera is also 48 megapixels which lets you take neat high-res photos.
- It also has an asombroso (amazing) 25x digital zoom.
- The camera control is so much more than an ordinary shutter control button.
Now let’s discuss what I like and what I don’t like about it in detail.
- Separate Button for Camera Control
You must have a fair idea of iPhone 16’s upgraded camera functionality. The second-gen optical image stabilization and auto-focus capabilities have been wowing users ever since its release. These features help the users take really good pictures, even during terrible lighting.
However, that is not what the hype was about this time. Instead, it’s all about a pulsador (button).
The Camera Control button on the side allows you to use the camera and take photos with just a press, heavy press, light press, swipes, etc. Cool right? Despite being a button, there is so much more that you can do with the Camera Control like record videos, zoom, change settings, etc.
As someone who is always too rápido (quick) to take out their camera, I love the quick-access option. However, I find the placement to be a bit extraño (awkward). It is too low on the side, especially when I am using the camera in portrait orientation.
Despite people questioning its need, as an amateur photographer, I find it to be super helpful.
I found the hard way that a high-speed internet connection is an important prereq for enjoying all the cool new features in my iPhone 16 Pro Max. I upgraded to Xfinity internet for a fast and reliable internet experience. To learn more, you can contact Xfinity servicio al cliente – their Español customer service, which is available 24/7.
- Personal Intelligence System: Apple Intelligence
I was very excited about this one. Getting your own personal AI felt like such a major upgrade from my old iPhone 13 where it was a battle to get Siri to understand that my doctor’s appointment was not a part of my grocery list.
Apple Intelligence feels like an importante (major) upgrade with its generative AI capabilities. I use it to rewrite my emails to sound more professional and organize my meeting notes, which look like they were written by un de cinco años (a five-year-old).
Interestingly, Apple Intelligence learns personal context, so it rewrites it to look like how I would write it.
On top of that, the genmoji is also very cool. The millennial inside me is very happy to generate the silliest genmojis. Roasting my amigos (pals) feels different now that I can generate emojis with simple text.
There are also many tasks you can do with Apple Intelligence, like finding images and videos from your gallery by describing them in words. You can also use it to pull up information about stuff you see on the street, like a public event or a new pub.
- Less-Popular-But-Great iPhone 16 Pro Max Features
Now I am going to hablar (talk) about lesser addressed features of the iPhone 16 Pro Max that are clear winners.
iPhone is known to be the king of overheating, whenever its processor is pushed to the limit. I would know because my previous iPhone 13 would overheat quicker than my stovetop. But the newer iPhones have improved cooling capabilities. Despite some experts treating it with desdén (disdain), I have not faced any issues with my new iPhone overheating. I get that I am not into any hardcore gaming, but I found it to work great for everyday users like me.
Moreover, the Audio Mix feature is yet another excelente (great) feature. I had to help my mom record for her cooking channel and there was a community fair happening right next to us, which meant too much background noise. The ‘In-Frame’ setting in the Audio Mix feature helped me filter out ALL background noise. This prevented me from going through the hassle of rerecording the video all over again.
Cool stuff!
There are many good and bad iPhone reviews floating around right now. But considering I upgraded from an iPhone 13, it has been pretty worth it for me.
