Apple TV+’s ‘Acapulco’ nominated for nine Imagen Awards

All totaled, the streaming service racked up 17 nominations

Streamers lead the field for the 2024 Imagen Awards nominations, reports Deadline. The Imagen Foundation said today Prime Video scored a leading 27 noms, followed by Apple TV+ with 17 and Netflix with 14.

Apple’s comedy “Acapulco” is tops among programs with nine noms. The show is nominated for: Best Comedy Series; Best Actor, Comedy, Television (Enrique Arrizon,); three Best Supporting Actor, Comedy, Television nominations (Damián Alcázar, Carlos Corona, and Eugenio Derbez); three three Best Supporting Actress, Comedy, Television nominations (Vanessa Bauche, Camila Perez, and Regina Reynoso); and Javier Nuño and Joe Rodríguez for Best Music Supervision for Film or Television.

Apple TV shows also picked up other nominations including

° “The Morning Show” for Best Drama Series’

° Roxann Dawson of “Foundation” for Best Director;

° Fernando Meirelles of “Sugar” for Best Director; 

° Nestor Carbonell of “The Morning Show” for Best Supporting Actor, Drama (Television);

° Naian González Norvind of “Invasion” for Bests Supporting Actress, Drama (Television);

° Ava Louise Murchison of “Jane” for Best Young Actor (Television);

° “CURSES!” For Best Youth Programming;

° Carlos Rafael Rivera of “Lessons in Chemistry” for Best Music Composition for Film or Television;
