Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers around the world are now able to complete same-unit repairs for all four iPhone 14 models, instead of having to replace the entire device, reports MacRumors.
The article notes that the change came into effect last week, with Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers now able to order parts to complete iPhone 14 repairs in store. It is typical for parts to take a few weeks or months to become available for new Apple products.
In February 2021 Apple has told Apple Authorized Service Providers that it will introduce a same-unit repair method for iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 models exhibiting certain issues that would typically require a whole-unit replacement. The program seems to have expanded to cover other models, including the latest iPhone upgrades.
The Apple Service Provider program is designed for companies interested in offering service to Apple customers. Authorized Apple Resellers and businesses that specialize in service, but don’t resell Apple finished goods products, are both able to apply for Apple Service Provider authorization.
Universities and colleges may apply for Service Provider authorization to deliver repair services to their students. All repairs covered under warranty must be performed by Apple-certified technicians.
